Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service – Electrical & Mechanical Installation
Complete electrical, mechanical, ventilation and air conditioning installation delivered for Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service as part of a major station facilities upgrade.
T J Electrical & Air Conditioning were appointed to deliver a comprehensive electrical and mechanical installation project for Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service.
The project involved upgrading key station facilities, including the gym area, drying room and office spaces, with new electrical infrastructure, lighting, ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems.
A key advantage of this project was our ability to deliver both the electrical and mechanical package entirely in-house, providing the client with a single contractor responsible for the complete installation from start to finish.
Electrical Installation

The electrical package included a full new installation designed to improve efficiency, compliance and usability throughout the station.
Works included:
• New electrical installation to gym facilities
• Small power installation
• Intelligent lighting control system
• LED panel lighting installation
• Emergency lighting systems
• Alterations to appliance bay lighting
• Alterations to existing heater supplies
• New tray, conduit and dado trunking systems
All electrical works were completed in accordance with the project specification and issued design drawings.
Mechanical, Ventilation & Air Conditioning

Alongside the electrical installation, our team delivered a complete mechanical package to improve comfort, ventilation and environmental control within the building.
Works included:
• Vent-Axia MVHR ventilation system
• 10kW Mitsubishi Mr Slim Cassette Air Conditioning Unit
• 3.5kW Mitsubishi Mr Slim Wall Mounted Air Conditioning Unit
• Drying room dehumidification system
• Drying room heating installation
By delivering both disciplines under one contract, we simplified project management and ensured seamless coordination throughout the installation.
The completed project has transformed several key areas of the station, providing improved lighting, heating, ventilation and climate control for operational staff.
The upgraded facilities now offer a safer, more efficient and more comfortable environment while ensuring compliance with current standards and project requirements.
